A Broken Heart
Can anything compare to that? If anyone says “yes”, it just means that they’ve never experienced it. Because terrible tragedies befall us. Things happen that we never thought we could survive… but a broken heart? It makes the worst seem better, good, almost welcome. It makes the unbearable seem okay. Yes, you can survive a broken heart, but nothing is ever the same after, and while it’s still lying there in your chest, in thousands of tiny and midsized and bigger pieces, nothing is worse.
